Françoise Cleveland
A proud Idaho native, Françoise Cleveland has spent most of her career working to better Idaho through public policy on the national, state, and local level. Born and raised in Idaho Falls, she initiated a career in public service while working in the mayor’s office. During school, she served two appointments as a congressional intern in the U.S. Senate. Françoise earned her Master of Public Administration after receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications with a minor in Political Science from Idaho State University.
Previously, Françoise served as District Director in Idaho for the U.S. Senate where she was responsible for policy and constituent issues and served as spokesperson for legislative matters. Along with her husband and several business partners, she owned and operated a successful independent nuclear pharmacy before moving to the Treasure Valley.
Françoise is well known around the Idaho Capitol. She has worked for the Idaho House of Representatives, the Department of Education, and currently advocates for those 50 years and older as the Associate State Director of Advocacy for AARP by providing state and federal government relations, grassroots organizing, and community outreach.
She is a member of the Idaho Public Health Association, the Idaho Caregiver Alliance, Idaho Legislative Advisors, Boise City Club, Boise and Meridian Chambers of Commerce, Go Lead Idaho, and the Jane Austen Society of North America.
Françoise’s favorite book is The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas, an adventure where revenge is planned and executed precisely but is ultimately a story of love, hope, patience and forgiveness.
In her free time, Françoise enjoys playing games, tennis, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. She and her sweetheart, Kevin, have been married for twenty-six years and have three children.
