Tis the season to give thanks, and Go Lead Idaho has a lot for which to be thankful.First, with elections behind us, we can again thank our fore-mothers for the dedication and passion they showed in achieving the significant right to vote in the late 19th century. We celebrate our ability to both vote and run for office as a result of that historical movement.Secondly, the 113th Congress will have at least 20 female Senators, the most ever in US history. In the House at least 81 women were elected, breaking the record set in 2008. (Read more about the record-setting election)Here in the Valley, nine women were either newly elected or re-elected to serve in the State Legislature! We are thankful for that kind of representation at the Statehouse in the coming year. And, women are represented well at the local level, including the Boise, Meridian, Nampa and Caldwell City Councils, ACHD, College of Western Idaho Board of Trustees and elsewhere. And, we have a lot to look forward to.
